Frequently Asked Questions:
Why are auditions done by video?
Video auditions allow every student—regardless of location—to audition fairly and comfortably while giving families flexibility with scheduling.
Are there file size limits?
No. The WeTransfer upload link allows large video files without compression concerns.
Can my child re-record their auditions?
Yes. Students may re-record as many times as they’d like before uploading. Once files are submitted, they cannot be replaced.
Will auditions be shared publicly?
No. Auditions are viewed only by the Alive creative team for casting purposes.
Will there be callbacks?
Callbacks may be needed in some cases. These are typically held live via Zoom and coordinated with the school sponsor. Some callbacks may be completed via additional video submission if needed.
Will every student receive a role?
Many productions are designed to include a large number of students, especially those with chorus roles. However, casting needs vary by production.
